Is Your Child’s Anxiety Running the Show?
“"My child won’t sleep alone. We’re all exhausted and running on fumes."
"It feels like I spend all day trying to convince my child that everything is okay—even when there's nothing wrong."
Your child avoids school, sleepovers, or activities
You’ve shifted routines just to prevent meltdowns
No matter what you try, nothing seems to calm their fears
You feel exhausted and unsure how to help.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone and there is a proven way forward…
A Parent-Based Approach That Works
Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions is an evidence-based treatment that helps kids 4 -18 years old overcome anxiety without requiring them to attend therapy. It can help with:
Separation Anxiety
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Generalized Anxiety or constant “what ifs”
Sleep Problems
Social Anxiety
Panic Attacks and Agoraphobia
Specific Phobias
Illness and Health Anxiety
School Refusal
Selective Mutism
Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), restrictive eating, or “picky eating”
Highly Dependent Adult Children (“Failure to Launch”)
SPACE works even if your child is unwilling or unable to participate directly—because you become the change that is needed.
Not sure if you child has anxiety? Or maybe they don’t have a formal diagnosis? That’s okay! Start with my free resource below: Parental Accommodation Checklist. It will help you spot if you’re accommodating your child’s fears.
The Solution
SPACE is a parent-based treatment developed at the Yale Child Study Center for children and teens dealing with anxiety. Instead of changing your child’s behavior directly, SPACE helps change how you respond to your child’s anxiety with a step-by-step plan.
Through this work, you'll learn how to:
Offer emotional support without reinforcing anxiety.
Reduce the way you accommodate their fears without creating conflict.
Set compassionate boundaries that build trust and confidence.
Help your child face challenges with resilience.
Build a calmer home environment.
Here’s What Working Together Looks Like:
Step 1. Free Parent Consultation
A 15-minute call to see if SPACE is the right fit for your family.
Step 2. Parent Sessions
I meet with you in-person in Jesey City, NJ or virtual anywhere in NJ, NY, FL — your child doesn’t need to attend.
Step 3. Step-by-Step Plan
Together, we create and practice a plan to gradually provide support and reduce accommodations.
Step 4. More Confidence, Less Anxiety
Over time, your child tolerates their anxiety and fears, and home life feels calmer.
Parents Often Ask…
Does my child have to attend?
No. SPACE is designed to be for parents only. During the initial assessment, I may ask to meet with your child for one session, but that is it.
How long does it take?
Parents typically attend around 12 sessions (some less and some more) over the period of a few months. This depends on the severity of the issues we’re targeting and the pace you feel comfortable with making changes.
Does it work virtually?
Yes. SPACE is highly effective both online and in-person.
What if SPACE is not the right fit?
That’s what the free consultation is for to see if SPACE matches your family’s needs. It’s also why I may meet with your child for an assessment session to ensure we are targeting the right issue.
How much does it cost?
SPACE sessions are each 1-hour in length and cost $210 per session. I am private pay and do not accept insurance, but I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance if you have out-of-network benefits.
Hi, I’m Stephanie.
As a licensed therapist (and parent), I know how overwhelming it is when your child’s anxiety starts running the show—and how quickly your home life can revolve around avoiding meltdowns, school refusal, or bedtime battles.
With SPACE, we focus on supporting you as the parent. We’ll work together to shift patterns, reduce your child’s anxiety without reinforcing it, and bring calm back to your household. This isn’t about being a “perfect” parent—it’s about being an empowered one, even in the hardest moments.
I have an office in Jersey City, NJ or practice virtually anywhere in NJ, NY, & FL.
